Boldness

15 Apr

I was taking a look at one of my science textbooks from one of my college classes. It was attempting to defend evolution. Yet, the paragraphs were filled with uncertainty. Filled with maybes and perhaps, possibly, millions and billions, “unknown”. It was just astounding to see that so many people put their faith in something so filled with uncertainty!

It truly made me grateful that the Lord came into my life I have assurance and I rely on the maker of heaven and earth! I mean, just step back and think about that. Look at a little ant, or at a blade of grass, or simply watch little birds hatch from eggs…and it is truly comforting to know that ..My heavenly Father made these things, and I trust in Him! the Lord Jesus, who is the beginning and end.

I pray that this assurance will produce boldness in my life.

We live in a very apathetic age. an age where people yearn for excitement, trying to fill a void in their life without the Lord.

Man runs and reaches for the next thing that will fill that void ….yet soon enough it dissipates. He yearns for truth, for someone to boldly and assuredly proclaim the true faith.

As Christians we should definitely pray for boldness, I have oftentimes become lax in including this in my prayers.

Boldness comes from Christ, the opposite of cowardice. Not a brash boldness but a godly assurance in walking by faith.

Godly Boldness is expressed in loving assurance and trust in our Great Shepherd. I pray for all my fellow Christians and myself, that we may be bold for the Lord Jesus Christ!

In Christ!

Acts 4:23-37
The Believers Pray for Boldness
23 When they were released, they went to their friends and reported what the chief priests and the elders had said to them. 24 And when they heard it, they lifted their voices together to God and said, “Sovereign Lord, who made the heaven and the earth and the sea and everything in them, 25 who through the mouth of our father David, your servant, said by the Holy Spirit, “‘Why did the Gentiles rage, and the peoples plot in vain? 26 The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers were gathered together, against the Lord and against his Anointed’– 27 for truly in this city there were gathered together against your holy servant Jesus, whom you anointed, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, along with the Gentiles and the peoples of Israel, 28 to do whatever your hand and your plan had predestined to take place. 29 And now, Lord, look upon their threats and grant to your servants to continue to speak your word with all boldness, 30 while you stretch out your hand to heal, and signs and wonders are performed through the name of your holy servant Jesus.” 31 And when they had prayed, the place in which they were gathered together was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and continued to speak the word of God with boldness.
